Online Triage

Online triage an alternative way for you to contact the surgery for Non-Urgent queries.

Patients using this service can expect their query to be looked at by a member of the team within 2 working days. This could be used for medication or admin queries, routine medical issues or online advice. It should not be used for emergencies such as chest pain, breathlessness or unwell children.

Urgent Appointment

To request an urgent on the day appointment (Monday to Friday):

  • phone us on 01332 414 944, Monday to Friday from 8am
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine Appointment

To request a routine appointment in the next 14 days:

  • use our online system via the link at the top of this page
  • phone us on 01332 414 944, Monday to Friday from 8am
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Attending for your appointment

When you arrive for your appointment, you can now save having to queue to check in. We have a very easy to use the self-check-in screen. If you do have difficulty using it the first time, our receptionists will be happy to help you.  Antiseptic hand gel is available for you after using the touchscreen.

Extended Access Appointments

Extended access appointments will be available from 1st October 2022. These appointments will operate from 6.30pm to 8pm on Monday and Wednesday and will provide access to clinical care and treatment from pre-booked appointments only. Monday will be telephone appointments and Wednesday face to face appointments.

You can contact our reception team in the regular manner to book these appointments. Appointments will be with a mixture of clinicians including GP, First Contact Physio, Practice Nurse, Social Prescriber, who (with your consent) will have access to your full medical records.

There is also availability for blood tests on Saturdays at Derby Urgent Care Centre, Osmaston Road, Derby, DE1 2GD. Patients are required to bring their blood form with them to this appointment, these appointments are bookable through our reception team.

Home visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 11am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice at the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible. This will free up an appointment for someone else or reduces the number of missed GP appointments.

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • using the GP online system via the link at the top of this page
  • Send a cancellation email to ddicb.c81035-reception@nhs.net 
  • phone us on 01332 414 944, Monday to Friday from 8am
  • Use AccuRx patient triage to submitted a cancellation to the practice 

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Medical Students

We are fortunate to have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. If you would rather not have a student present during your consultation, please inform the reception staff prior to seeing the doctor.
