Flu

Influenza Season 2024/25

Dear Patients

We have put on our flu clinics for patient who will be 65 and over by 31st March 2025, on Saturday 05/10/2024. We will be sending out an invite via sms messaging, with a booking link in the first instance and calling those patients who do not have a mobile or consent.

Please be aware that we only have a limited number of vaccinations, and we will be completing these vaccinations on a first come first booked process.

We will be offering car park clinics for those patients with limited mobility, just advise the member of staff on the day and we will sort this out.

Housebound and Nursing Home patients

Those patients will be completed throughout October 2024 and those patients will be contacted to schedule.

At Risk Patients

Unfortunately, those patients that fall into the 'at risk cohort' (Under 65) we will not be completing a weekend clinic as we do not get the attendance that permits us to cover overtime and additional fees. We will be completing at risk vaccinations in standard nursing / surgery times. (Again, we have limited vaccinations for this cohort)

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind Regards

Village Surgery

RSV

RSV Vaccinations

Dear Patients,

From the 1st September Village Surgery will be commencing RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) Vaccinations for all eligible patients.

Eligible Cohorts

There are different vaccinations for each cohort so clinics should be booked separately.

Programme for older adults aged 75 to 79 years old –

All adults turning 75 years old on or after 1 September 2024 will be eligible for the routine programme and should be offered a single dose of the RSV vaccine. A one-off catch-up campaign for those already aged 75 to 79 years old on 1 September 2024 will be undertaken at the earliest opportunity.

Programme for pregnant women to protect infants –

All women who are at least 28 weeks pregnant (the eligible cohort) on 1 September 2024, will be offered a single dose of the RSV vaccine. After that, pregnant women will become eligible as they reach 28 weeks gestation and remain eligible up to birth.

We will be inviting eligible patients over the next few months and book you into our RSV clinics.
