Mounjaro

📢 Mounjaro (tirzepatide) – Who Can Get It on the NHS?

We've had many questions about Mounjaro, the new weight loss injection. Here's what you need to know:

💉 Mounjaro is currently only available on the NHS for a small group of patients, under strict criteria:

You must:

  • Be 18 or over
  • Have a BMI of 40+, or 37.5+ if you’re from a Black, Asian or other minority ethnic background
  • Have 4 or more weight-related health conditions (e.g. type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, heart disease)

🏥 It's initially being prescribed by specialist hospital clinics, and will be rolled out to Derby/Derbyshire GPs later this year – but only for people who meet the above criteria.

⚠️ It is not available for general weight loss or cosmetic reasons, even if you're willing to pay privately.

🏃‍♀️ Support is available! If you're looking for help managing your weight, check out:

Village Surgery is Piloting Heidi AI

We’re pleased to let our patients know that we are currently piloting Heidi AI—a new digital assistant designed to support GPs during consultations.

Please be assured that Heidi AI is not a recording system. It does not store audio or video of your appointment. Instead, it works securely in the background to help streamline clinical documentation, allowing your doctor to spend more time fully engaged with you, rather than typing notes during your consultation.

This pilot is part of our ongoing commitment to improving patient care and making the best use of technology to support our clinical team.

If you have any questions about the pilot, please speak to a member of our team.

You can request that this is not used during your consultation, please update this with the clinican you are visiting .

Kind Regards

Village Surgery
